- November 2009: Nominated by partner organization East Novability, Strait Area Transit was awarded the "Lieutenant Governor's Persons with Disabilities Partnership Award." In receiving this award, SAT is considered a role model for business excellence in hiring, accomodating, and serving persons with disabilities. S-HRDA congratulates Strait Area Transit on this well deserved accomplishment.
- Summer 2009: Strait Area Transit has published a series of articles in our local newspapers that feature some of their clients and how the SAT service has had a positive impact on their lives. - June 2009: Strait Area Transit has finalized the Inverness County Feasibility Study and are now concentrating their efforts on expanding the transit service into designated areas of Inverness County within the next year.
